Fear is a Liar
For everyone who has been following the blog for the past couple of years you know my motto has been fearless, per the two shirts we currently have in stock as a reminder.
This year like most comes with good and bad moments. Moments of tears of happiness and others of completely trying to figure out God’s plan for us.
I listen to the ‘Top Christian’ playlist a lot on Spotify and more times than not the song “Fear is a Liar’ by Zach Williams would play. I would listen and agree but recently it has hit more home than ever.
He sings:
“When he told you you’re not good enough
When he told you you’re not right
When he told you you’re not strong enough
To put up a good fight
When he told you you’re not worthy
When he told you you’re not loved
When he told you you’re not beautiful
That you’ll never be enough”
On any self-love journey comes fear. We doubt ourselves, we let others tell us we cannot be something more and we even tell ourselves that. We say & hear things just like the song ‘You are not good enough; You are not strong enough; not worthy; not loved; not beautiful.’ We find ourselves saying these things in the moments we are down on ourselves, scared to not get the best thing for us, scared to be with the person we want, scared you won’t be good enough for someone, scared you won’t be strong enough if something doesn’t go our way so we don’t try at all… all those things are FEAR. Fear of the unknown, fear of so many things….
He continues with:
Fear, he is a liar
He will take your breath
Stop you in your steps
Fear he is a liar
He will rob your rest
Steal your happiness
Cast your fear in the fire
‘Cause fear he is a liar”
