This Woman Inspires Self Love Beauty to Continue Our Mission of Empowering Women
I’m always on the lookout for new people and communities advocating girl-power that I can connect with. Our mission is to empower women one story at a time and our women empowerment interviews are all about sharing stories from amazing women creating change for a better world.
Recently, I discovered sheRose, Inc., an organization that empowers adolescent girls from diverse backgrounds between the ages of 8-18 years old to be bold and authentic leaders. sheRose, Inc. aims to develop well-rounded young women through confidence building, mentoring and leadership awareness through a variety of different platforms and projects.
Needless to say I quickly got in touch with the CEO and Founder, Nataya Cowart to hear what motivated her to build and expand this amazing organization.
Check out my interview with her below!
What was your motivation to start sheRose?
My motivation is to empower just one girl to reach her full potential and be everything she dreams of. I am motivated by the hearts and minds I hope to touch and change each and every day. I hope to inspire, empower and motivate girls to chase away the cycle self-hate but instead chase dreams… chase self-love… chase success. My hope is sheRose, Inc. will motivate girls to motivate the next generation of young girls.
Since starting, what has to be your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was on the last day of our first summer camp. We were able to watch girls who were initially resistant to loving and empowering themselves look at us and confidently say, “I am strong. I am beautiful. And I am worthy.”
Before starting this, what did you do?
I was a youth & family coordinator working with youth in foster care. My role was to coordinate services for youth and families to ensure they reached permanency, meet their goals, and used their voice. I also worked as a licensed therapist for children and families.
What is your biggest advice you give the girls you work with?
It’s everything to love yourself because when you love you, you’re able to teach people how to treat you.
What is your go to saying to help you stayed empowered?
If you don’t work towards your dreams you will work towards someone else’s dream. You Got This!!! It’ll all be worth it.
How can someone get involved?
Visit our website at www.sheroseinc.org or schedule a consultation with me. I would love to hear your story.
