How to Represent Your True Inner Self Through Style

Since the beginning of time, people were judging others based on the way they look. Now, in the era of social media, this is even more present. Whether you like it or not, you actually ARE in some way representing yourself to the world with your appearance. And depending on what kind of impression you want to make, you should pick the style that matches it, but at the same time reflects your true self as well. Whatever your style is, remember that: “You are what you wear” doesn’t necessarily need to be a bad thing.

Take a good care of yourself

This has to be your top priority. You’re a girl after all, and you shouldn’t let yourself look dirty and sloppy.

Face

Even though many celebrities are doing plastic surgeries to achieve their immortal looks, we prefer being natural and loving our tiny flaws. Moisturize your face and use as many organic products as you can. Always remove your makeup before going to bed and never forget to use sunscreen. If your skin glows – so will your confidence.

Hair

Hair is almost 70% of a person’s beauty. And having a nice hair is not an easy task, especially if you are not a teenager anymore. Never forget to moisturize, but forget about ponytails during cold months. Cut away your split ends and be extra careful with your styling tools.

Find your color

Some people look fabulous in white, some break hearts while clad in black, and some can rock any color from red to blue. We all saw thousands of internet articles about different meanings of every color, and we usually thought that it means nothing, but in reality, there is some truth in it. We tend to associate blue with calmness, purple with prosperity, black with authority, grey with style etc. But regardless of that, you should wear colors you like, and that compliment your skin and your mood the best.

Stock up on accessories

Since accessories are made for pulling looks together, regardless of the vibe we want, they are definitely something worth splurging on. While bold necklace can update your white tee and pair of jeans, a nice delicate one can even make your dress look more feminine. A stack of rings and some ear cuffs will give you an instant “Don’t mess with me” vibe, while pearls will help you look polished. Mixing two opposite types of accessories will make you look effortlessly fashionable, as well as ankle boots instead of normal pumps. Explore and find what you like best.

Dress for the body you have, not the body you want

Trust me, no one is going to pull your shirt collar to see the size tag on it, and to be honest, no one even cares. Your focus should not be fitting in “SMALL” or “MEDIUM” sized garments. Of course, we all take two different sizes with us to the dressing room and pray that smallest one fits, but that’s not the point. First of all, my opinion is that girls who squeeze themselves into garments that are too small for them look like streetwalkers. You should feel good inside your skin, as well as your clothing. Opt for f clothing that hugs your curves and is 100 percent comfortable.

Think past trends

Following trends and knowing what’s “IN” this season is good, but just for inspiration. If you want to find the style that represents you and your personality, you should start thinking way beyond trends. How can you express yourself if you are wearing something that 70% of girls in your city have? Turn to basic garments and build your wardrobe around them instead of splurging on one-season pieces. You will see that less really is more and you will learn to express yourself in the most natural way.

That would be it. Remember, the key to expressing your true inner self through style is to feel good and confident all the time. Stay true to your taste and trust your gut, because if one thing will never go out of style it is confidence.
